The results of Finland’s two-year basic income experiment have been published, providing insights into the effects of a flat monthly payment for unemployed people, provided by the country’s government. The findings show that despite minor impacts on employment rates of those receiving the basic income, recipients had a “perception of better mental and economic wellbeing”.
