LOS ANGELES (TND) — Los Angeles County is piloting a program that gives 1,000 randomly selected people a “guaranteed income” of $1,000 a month for three years.
Individuals hoping to participate in the new program, titled “Breathe,” have to apply by April 13.
Eligibility requirements include being over 18, living in a neighborhood, and having an income at or below 100% of the county’s Area Median Household Income (AMI).
