Paterson wants to guarantee $400 in monthly income, but can't find 25 people who applied for it

Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh details the city’s redevelopment programs his 2021 State of the City address. PATERSON — City officials are struggling to contact about 25 people who were picked to receive debit cards worth $400 per month in Mayor Andre Sayegh’s guaranteed income experiment.

Officials said 4,025 Paterson residents submitted applications in April for the monthly no-strings-attached payments and the University of Pennsylvania then conducted a lottery last month to select 110 recipients.
