A guaranteed income program has rolled out in Sacramento County to help families in need of a safety net.
The program is part of a nationwide trend popularized in part by former Stockton Mayor Michael Tubbs, who launched a privately funded guaranteed income program in 2019 .The program for Sacramento County residents is being operated and funded by United Way with help from nonprofit UpTogether.A hundred families have been selected to receive $300 per month for the next two years with "no strings attached," according to a release from United Way California Capital Region .
