UBI is the policy is that all citizens receive a regular sum of money from the government, without any conditions. This would ensure that every American would have enough income to at least pay for necessities.
Some conservatives have even argued that directly giving low-income individuals money, instead of going through the byzantine welfare system, is a better approach. In reality, however, Universal Basic Income would undermine incentives for people to work and help grow the economy. How it works
