A recent report by the British organisation, the Royal Society for the Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce, has recommended a basic pay of 2,400 pounds sterling, as a means of eradicating poverty in the UK. In exchange for this, the report recommends scrapping the current system of benefits. This basic pay will improve health and well-being among British citizens, the planners say. There is the argument, however, that it could lead to fecklessness among recipients, but proponents brush this off.
