UBI would replace all other cash benefits – disability, unemployment, welfare, student loans, old age security, etc. In Canada, that’s in the order of $10000 per person per year.
One may have to expand what health care covers to include pharmacare, dental, and mental. That will decrease the amount that Canadians spend out of their private purse to a greater amount than they would add to the public burden (it saves about 4 private dollars for every public dolar spent).
