Looking ahead to next month, let alone next year, can feel almost impossible for anyone working in the performing arts at the moment.
Theatre is in dire straits, and is in urgent need of support. As Nicholas Hytner said last weekend: “The entire arts sector is on the brink of ruin” and needs “massive, unprecedented and immediate investment”. We all hope that help is on its way from the government.
