Here I sit writing, a member of quite a few privileged classes. White, male, educated – yet there is one privileged class I belong to that is not usually noticed. As a person over 65, I have the benefit of a guaranteed income and healthcare through Social Security and Medicare. I am the beneficiary of a couple of extraordinary programs that rightfully can be called socialist put in place by past courageous Democratic presidents and legislators. In these times when millions are out of work, most folks are not so fortunate.
