Though we’re nowhere near a coastline, a tsunami of evictions will soon flood our state. As of July 4, nearly 1 in 4 New Mexicans were unemployed, and without an immediate extension in the federal Pandemic Unemployment Insurance (PUI), which ends July 31, unfathomable economic and social devastation will begin to unfold.
