The crisis and basic income

Johannesburg (dpa) – The job is gone, the source of income is drying up – but the costs remain: worldwide, the corona crisis plunges many people into existence.

It is particularly critical in countries where there are already many poor people. In South Africa, for example, the unemployment rate was 30.1 percent at the beginning of the year, and that was before the corona lockdown. Now it is estimated at over 50 percent.
