While only 10% of Marin County residents live at or below the official federal poverty level, nearly one-third of the population can’t afford to “make ends meet” here without public or private assistance. That begs the question: How do they do it?
Many people may be receiving benefits from organizations like California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children.
