South African Federation of Trade Unions (Saftu) general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi called for the introduction of a monthly grant of R1500 for unemployed South Africans over 18.
Vavi was talking to a Event before the Medium-Term Fiscal Policy Statement (MTBPS) on Thursday 11 November. Saftu is South Africa’s second largest trade federation, representing over 21 affiliated unions and over 800,000 workers across the country.
