City Council Approves $4.6 Million for GBI Pilot Program
On Tuesday, May 17, City Council resolved to appropriate $4,600,000 of American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 funds for a Guaranteed Basic Income pilot program. The program aims to provide additional economic stability to Alameda’s most vulnerable residents. The pilot program will pay $1,000 per month for 24 months to 150 low-income households.
