Democratic lawmakers in Oregon have introduced a bill that would shell out $1,000 each month to homeless individuals and other people making below a certain amount of income.
The bill would create the “People’s Housing Assistance Fund Demonstration Program, administered by the Department of Human Services” and would “provide 12 monthly payments of $1,000 to individuals who are experiencing homelessness, are at risk of homelessness, are severely rent burdened or earn at or below 60 percent of area median income.”There are no other stipulations, and the money could be spent as the […]
