OREGON may see its first-ever universal basic income program after the Senate proposed a bill earlier this year.

The proposal, Senate 603, would offer $1,000 per month for two years to those who qualify. If passed, Oregon residents would receive $1,000 per month for two years The monthly payments would be given to individuals who are experiencing homelessness , are at risk of homelessness, are severely rent burdened, or earn at or below 60 percent of the area median income, according to KATU 2 ABC.
