After a bill proposing an UBIP was introduced in the Oregon Senate earlier this year, it’s possible that the state will implement its first UBIP.
Under Senate Bill 603, qualified individuals would receive $1,000 per month for two years. 1 According to KATU 2 ABC, the monthly payments would be given to people who are either currently homeless or at risk of homelessness, have a very high rent payment, or have an income that is less than 60% of the area median.
