Harris County officials defend Guaranteed Income program after AG Ken Paxton filed lawsuit

Harris County Officials are defending the Uplift Harris Guaranteed Income Program after Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit against the program on Tuesday.

The pilot program was first announced last year and would provide nearly 2,000 low-income households with $500 monthly payments for 18 months. First payments for participants of the program were previously set to start later this month .
