SHREVEPORT, La. – The registration process is underway for the public to sign up Shreveport’s Universal Basic Income Program (UBI).
The pilot program is a joint effort between the city, Caddo Parish, and the United Way of Northwest Louisiana. Those who are interested can register at www.shreveportla.gov through January 17th.
There will be 110 families selected and eligible for $660 a month for a year. Shreveport residents are single parents income below 120% of the Federal Poverty Level will be eligible.
