It starts with the usual pronouncements about finances being in a worse state than expected, a handy way to deflate expectations of delivery on campaign promises. Then it reverses various commitments made by the previous government, with the handy phrase: “People voted for change.” There’s nothing new here, although Ontario’s new premier has followed the script with particular fervour.
