Parents and legal guardians of children under the age of four in the city of Pomona, California, can apply to receive a payment of $500 per month under a new guaranteed income program.
The program, the City of Pomona Household Universal Grants Program (HUG), will be funded with $2.4 million received by the city through the American Rescue Plan Act, a $1.9 trillion federal bill passed by the Biden administration in 2021 to speed up the country’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
