US: New POLITICO/Morning Consult poll finds that 43% of Americans are in favour of a UBI

A new poll POLITICO/Morning Consult conducted between the 14th and 17th September 2017 surveying 1,994 registered US voters, found that, of those asked whether they would support or oppose ‘ a proposal in which the government would provide all Americans a regular, unconditional sum of money, sometimes referred to as universal basic income ’, 43% either ‘strongly supported’ or ‘somewhat supported’ the idea.

The FINANCIAL — From driverless cars to a workplace staffed by robots, automation has the potential to reshape many facets of American life. Windhoek-The massive fuel storage facility in Walvis Bay, which was estimated at N$3.7 billion in 2014, is now anticipated to cost the government N$5.2 billion upon its envisaged completion in June 2018.

Those who support basic income claim it is a more transparent system than existing welfare systems, and that it has the ability to reduce or even eradicate poverty in a country.
