Contrary to popular belief, some basic income guarantee systems increase work effort, says expert The Badger Herald

The University of Wisconsin Institute for Poverty Research, also known as IRP, continued its 2021-22 seminar series on Thursday with a presentation on the effects of negative income taxes.

The seminar, titled “Well-being versus Work Under a Negative Income Tax: Evidence from Gary, Seattle, Denver, and Manitoba Income Maintenance Experiments,” was organized by University of Waterloo Associate Professor of Economics Chris Riddell .
