Homeless people in Denver will receive a universal basic income starting in November. For a year, 140 homeless people will be paid $1,000 a month with no eligibility requirements. The “Denver Basic Income Project” is not only intended to help those affected, but also to investigate what people spend their unconditional income on – and whether this improves people’s living conditions in the long term.
