Finland’s folly … or wisdom

The Finnish government began an experiment at the beginning of this year to select at random 2,000 unemployed persons (white- and blue-collar, construction workers, etc.) and give them the equivalent of about $587 U. S. dollars automatically every month for two years. No strings attached. The government will then study what happens to these people after two years.
