Finnish Basic Income Study: There is no incentive for the labor market, but psyche improves

In a two-year pilot project, Finnish researchers launched a study that accompanied the unemployed in their everyday lives. The study should show the effects of an unconditional basic income on the job search. The basic income helped the subjects’ psyche, but had no effect on the labor market.

In a study, 2,000 Finnish unemployed were accompanied for two years. They received the unconditional basic income. The Finnish economic research institute “Vatt” will publish the results of this pilot project on Wednesday.
