On Tuesday, Jack Dorsey announced that he was committing $1 billion , or almost 30 percent of his net worth, to first fight the coronavirus and then help the causes of girls’ health and education, as well as experiment with universal basic income. That’s good. He’s making this commitment at 43, when he’s at the top of his game in terms of marbles and influence. Also good. And while he’s structured this in a way that legally shields him from public accountability, he’s pledged to track all his giving in a Google GOOGL doc. Transparency…good.
