If the universal basic income were $1K pre-tax per month, it would have no noticeable impact on my life. I’d reserve half for income taxes and the rest would just sit in my bank account.
It would be the same as giving a minimum wage worker a 10 cent per hour raise. It’s a nice token gesture but totally pointless, a bit like the Paul Ryan tax giveaway for the middle class.
