STOCKTON — This week, hundreds of households throughout the city will receive a letter seeking interest to participate in the controversial basic income pilot program.
The Stockton Economic Empowerment Demonstration sent letters to 1,200 randomly selected households as the first step in selecting individuals to receive $500 a month in basic or additional income for 18 months.
