Regarding, "Pureval proposes additions to budget," (June 5): There is a lot of free money floating around. Mayor Aftab Pureval wants to give cash to citizens, money for a skate park and more money for street fixes. The mayor wants to give medical debt relief to some citizens of Cincinnati and also money for child savings accounts and funding for a guaranteed income program.
If money is readily available for all of that, why isn’t there enough money to put into the City of Cincinnati Retirement System Pension Fund to make it solvent in perpetuity?
