The Mountain View City Council last week moved forward on major efforts to help the city’s underserved – actions that come as the state’s moratorium on housing evictions expired.
Using $3 million in federal American Rescue Plan Act funds, the council is giving $1 million to the nonprofit Community Services Agency, which supplies basic needs like food and shelter; $1 million to the Mountain View Solidarity Fund, which helps struggling Latino families; and $1 million to the Guaranteed Basic Income (GBI) pilot program.
