If something like UBI (universal basic income) went into effect, wouldn’t the prices of most goods and services also increase in price to reflect the new average “wealth” of individuals?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for something like UBI- especially with the ever-increasing wealth gap in the U.S. But, as a person who can’t afford to buy housing and has to rent, I’m skeptical about the actual efficacy of the policy to control price gauges.
