South Africa’s stimulus package is merely the rearranging of existing budgets by de-funding other government programmes, says SACP general-secretary Blade Nzimande.
He claimed there were forces within National Treasury and the SA Reserve Bank holding on tightly to discredited neo-liberal style fundamentalism.
Nzimande also said the SACP feared excellent ideas in the country’s economic turnaround plan would not materialise or be hindered by fiscal austerity.
