Scotland Considers ‘Universal Basic Income’

Scotish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has proposed a lavish universal basic income for every man, woman, and child in Scotland aimed at replacing its welfare system. The proposal calls for a family of four to receive 112 percent of the median salary for the rest of their lives, whether they work or not. Scotland First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is the first world leader to propose the so-called “universal basic income” in a move that would literally provide roughly $200 a week to every citizen for the rest of his or her life.
