I wish that I could say that I was more surprised at this news. As a 40+ year resident, married to a Native Hawaiian mixed man, I’ve seen the slow but steady downfall of our state as the public continues to elect Democrats. Since 1960, the State of Hawaii has voted Democrat during every election except for 2 (1972 for Nixon and 1984 for Reagan).
