Five states are putting money back in the hands of residents to help offset rising costs due to inflation.

The head of a Christian children’s charity is welcoming the idea of a Universal Basic Income for teenagers leaving care.

From today, care leavers in Wales will be given £1600 a month to help support them into adulthood.

(FOX 9) – Using funds through the American Rescue Plan, select St. Paul families will be enrolled in a pilot program that offers guaranteed basic income and payments to a college savings plan.

St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter announced the CollegeBound Boost on Thursday – an initiative to expand St. Paul’s guaranteed income and college savings programs.

Homeless high school students in Santa Clara County may soon receive an income lifeline.

State Sen. Dave Cortese is working to bring guaranteed income to local homeless high school seniors through a pilot program, after a similar bill, SB 1341, failed in the state Legislature. The City of St. Paul is expanding its guaranteed basic income experiment, giving monthly checks to more families while also making deposits into some of their children’s college savings accounts.

With the city council’s support, Mayor Melvin Carter launched the People’s Prosperity Guaranteed Income Pilot in November 2020, spending $300,000 in federal coronavirus relief grants and $1.2 million from donors.
