Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) published the "Household consumption expenditure" statistics for 2023. Accordingly, housing and rent expenditures had the highest share in consumption expenditures of households across the country, with 23,9 percent. Transportation was in second place with 21,9 percent, and food and non-alcoholic beverage expenditures were in third place with 20,6 percent.
The lowest share in total consumption expenditures was taken by insurance and financial services with 0,8 percent, education services with 1 percent, and entertainment, sports and culture expenditures with 1,9 percent.
