The provincial government announces a new basic income program for youth receiving housing services

Today the Honorable John G. Abbott, Secretary of State for Children, Senior Citizens and Social Development, announced the launch of a new basic income program for youth receiving housing services through the Department’s voluntary youth service program.

About 300 young clients of the department, who are between 16 and 21 years old and receive inpatient services, are currently receiving financial and other support.
