City leaders in St. Louis, Missouri, have stepped in to provide monthly cash payments to families struggling to make ends meet amid the economic crisis and financial fallout of the pandemic.
The St. Louis Board of Aldermen, the city’s legislative body, passed a resolution to provide monthly payments of $500 to more than 400 local families. And on December 28, Major Tishaura Jones announced that he had signed the bill into law.
