INTRODUCTION

In 2016, Swiss voters rejected proposals for a Universal Basic Income (UBI) in a referendum [Ref: Financial Times ]. If passed, it would have seen all Swiss citizens receive a guaranteed yearly payment, regardless of their employment status.
