Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins announced the financial donors for the privately funded universal basic income pilot program in which Shreveport will participate.
“We announced that Shreveport will participate in a privately funded UBI (Universal Basic Income) pilot program a couple of weeks ago,” Perkins posted on Facebook. “Thanks to Jack Dorsey, (CEO) of Twitter and Square for donating $3 million to Mayors for Guaranteed Income and for being willing to invest in possible solutions to poverty, inequality, and our fast-changing economy.”
