New Delhi: While the nation waits for Union Budget 2017 with bated breath, the Economic Survey 2016-17 proposes two major policies. The survey was tabled in the Parliament by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday.
Jaitley proposed the concept of Universal Basic Income (UBI) as an alternative to the various social welfare schemes in an effort to reduce poverty. The second idea put forth by the FinMin is incentivising good fiscal performance by states.
