United Way of Pierce County is opening applications for the Guaranteed Income Project in Tacoma

The GRIT project aims to show how establishing economic stability can help reduce poverty by providing households with $500 per month. TACOMA, Wash. – How much will an extra $500 a month help your bills? Starting next month, 175 Tacoma households will receive that assistance.

The United Way of Pierce County opened applications on Friday, March 1, for a program called Strengthening Resilience in Tacoma (GRIT) 2.0. The project provides families with a monthly cash gift of $500 until June of the following year.
