United Way of Pierce County opens applications for guaranteed income project in Tacoma

The GRIT project aims to show how establishing economic stability can help reduce poverty by providing households with $500 per month.

TACOMA, Wash. – How much will an extra $500 a month help your bills? Starting next month, 175 Tacoma households will receive that assistance.

United Way of Pierce County opened applications Friday, March 1, for a program called Strengthening Resilience in Tacoma (GRIT) 2.0.
