Not a fan. But, I don’t have a crystal ball either.
But my arm chair quarterback, uneducated view is based on the 80/20 rule. If 20% of the people are going to contribute 80% of the work to society; and you’re going to penalize them for their contribution by redistributing their income to the slacking 80%, then you’re de-incentivizing them to continue contributing.
In the long run, you’re encouraging mediocre work by the people that actually make a difference. Over time, the amount of universal basic income will have to be reduced due to the lower output. And, that’s a vicious […]
