Annapolis City Council votes on proposed boxing ring, universal basic income and other budget changes – Capital Gazette

Youth boxing appears to be a firm favorite as the Annapolis City Council prepares for its next fight.

While no fuss was made during the 3.5-hour work session on May 26, the mayor and seven feisty councilors negotiated 44 proposed amendments to the fiscal year 2023 budget. Conflicts arose over everything from a universal basic income program to the whether or not giving $5,000 to a church in Eastport was against the US Constitution.
