Can we talk about Universal Basic Income? It’s often brought up in our discussions here and the biggest issue I’d like to see theories about is how real estate/rent/home owning can be dealt with.

UBI is really interesting to me regarding the singularity because not only does it seem inevitable but it seems like it is directly around the next corner, like within the next 5 years.

But obviously if everyone has a free UBI of, let’s say 2 to 4k per month, many or all residence owners will raise rent drastically. In a utopic future we’d all just have the right to our own home regardless of income, but this won’t be achieved in the short or mid term.
