Letter: Do We Have the Political Will to Truly Create Jobs?

The recent articles in The Chronicle describing the social and economic problems in Grays Harbor County can be duplicated in hundreds, and possibly thousands, of rural areas in the United States. The loss of manufacturing and resource-based employment has stripped those areas of family wage jobs. In part this has been due to jobs moving overseas, but less discussed are those jobs lost to automation.
