I laughed out loud when I read the quote from Jessica Millan Patterson, the chair of the California Republican Party, who accused Alex Padilla, Gov. Gavin Newsom’s choice to be our next U.S. senator, of being “willing to engage in voter suppression.” (“Historic pick for Senate,” Dec. 23)
As we learned from the recent presidential election, the Republican Party is the party of voter suppression. President Trump tried unsuccessfully to stifle votes in swing states, and is still trying to undo them. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!
