Since UBIS is to be given to the rich and the middle classes as well, it can be expensive. After my last op-ed in this paper (‘The safety net of the future,’ IE, December 28, 2018) several readers, intrigued by the idea of a Universal Basic Income Supplement (UBIS) proposed in the article, asked me to elaborate.
